Cinematography day with Eric Kress and Benjamin B
10.00-16.00 Tuesday 31st January 2012
A morning and afternoon dedicated to cinematography with director of photography Eric Kress and journalist Benjamin B, and questions and comments from the audience.

In the morning seminar we will screen a series of film clips (from Eric's work and other filmmakers) as a starting point for discussions about framing, lighting, camera movement and the construction of scenes and sequences.
The theme of the afternoon workshop will be DUAL CLOSE-UPS, setting up angle and reverse shots of two people talking, which is one of the most common filmmaking situations. Eric will shoot and discuss variations of dual close-ups to illustrate approaches to staging, lighting, operating and continuity.
Eric Kress, DFF, is a leading European cinematographer whose credits include The Kingdom, Flickering Lights, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Arn: The Knight Templar. He recently completed Nobel's Last Will.
Benjamin B is the Senior European Correspondent for American Cinematographer and the author of the book Reflections. He is the editor of thefilmbook.com.
