State of Pará: The Amazon and its opportunities.

The Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Sweden, in cooperation with the Stockholm School of Economics, would like to invite you to an evening about the business opportunities in the State of Pará, in the Amazon region of Brazil.

With impressive economic activities, such as a staggering 47% appreciation in investment since 2010, Pará is undergoing an economic-Cinderella story. The state has one the richest mineral reserves in the country, and the mining sector represents almost 30% of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP), corresponding to 25% of the total national production.

During the event we will listen to HE Mr David Leal, Secretary for Economic Development and Incentives for Production of the State of Pará, who is visiting Sweden as a result of the agreement recently signed between that government and Brazilcham Sweden, in order to promote trade between Sweden and "The Land of Açaí". We will also hear from companies that have commercial links to Northern Brazil on their views about the future for that region.
