The interest for this summer’s O-Ringen in Skåne and Kristianstad is at its peak. On 1st November 7 127 participants had entered the orienteering event. A clear improvement compared to this time in previous years.

- We are obviously very pleased with the huge interest. Through our concept and unique areas, with everything from beech forests at Ryssberget to a beach stage at Friseboda, complemented with experiences and activities around the competitions we have got evidence that there is a big interest to participate in the 50th O-Ringen in Skåne and Kristianstad, says the general secretary for the O-Ringen in Skåne, Mats Widesjö.

As a part of this summer’s anniversary, with the 50th O-Ringen, we will release a book about the history of the competition.

The idea is that there will be some pages in the book for each year, where we have text mixed with images and maps from that year, mixed with fun and interesting anecdotes, says Anders Hansson, who will be working on producing the book.

In addition, we plan to those who buy the book will also have access to all the maps from all O-Ringen stages through the years.

2017’s version of the world’s largest orienteering adventure, the O-Ringen, is going to be organized in Värmland with Arvika as the main town. 

- The concept with having Arvika as the main town offers both good orienteering terrain and accessibility to other activities and attractions, Arvika is a pearl, says Henrik Boström, CEO of the O-Ringen.

There is a lot of ways to get to O-Ringen in Skåne and Kristianstad. Go by train, bus, airplane or car, there are a lot of ways to get to O-Ringen.

International Flights to Copenhagen airport in Denmark (1h 20 min by train to Krisitianstad), by Öresundståg.

Malmö Airport is also nearby witch is operated from Stockholm by both SAS and Norwegian.
