La Libertie, Campsegret, France March 1st 2013

La Libertie chambres d´hôtes, B&B, has been included in the highly respected 2013 French edition of the Guide Michelin.

La Libertie is situated in the Dordogne, in the south west of France, just outside Bergerac in a small village called Campsegret. La Libertie chambres d´hôtes (B&B), run by a Swedish couple Christina and Johan Österlund, opened in the summer of 2010 after an extensive renovation.

Already after the first year in business, La libertie was awarded 4 keys out of 4 possible by the French tourist advisory board, Clévacances. In the second year of business, La Libertie was chosen one of France´s 200 best chambres d´hôtes by Le Figaro Magasin. Now, three years later the Guide Michelin has noticed La Libertie and included it, in their 2013 French edition.
La Libertie, which means freedom, has five double rooms, each tastefully decorated with a personal touch. All rooms have an exit into the beautiful garden with its pool. With a caring hand, Christina and Johan have created a calm, beautiful and peaceful oasis. The idea is that all guests here will find relaxation, in between days of activity.

La Libertie is run by a Swedish couple, Christina and Johan Österlund.

After 20 years in the absolute top of the world’s restaurant and hotel business, Christina and Johan decided to take the leap and move to France in order to realize a dream – opening a Chambres d´hôtes.

Christina, used to be the restaurant manager at Mathias Dahlgren’s two restaurants Matsalen & Matbaren. Both restaurants awarded with stars from the Michelin Guide. Before that she worked more than 13 years as restaurant manager with Christer Lingström at Edsbacka Krog. Christina has, as manager, among other things become known for her ability to enhance the interplay between food and wine.

Johan was formerly the head waiter in the Cadier bar at Stockholm’s Grand Hôtel. Before that he worked as F&B operative manager at Infra City in Stockholm, and he has also worked for a long time in the United States.

With Christina and Johan running La Libertie in the Bordeaux region, there is a natural starting-point for adventurous, food-loving travelers; especially those who are curious about all the castles in the Dordogne and those keen on trying the exquisite, culinary specialties of the region such as duck liver (foie gras), truffle and fine wine.

Welcome!
