Förslag till nya äldste i New Life
I augusti skickade vi ut olika äldste på uppdrag (Owo Bjälkander, Linnea Widén och Hasse Persson), så sedan sent i våras har vi som äldste bett för att nya äldste ska frigöras bland oss.
Söndagen den 22 november föreslog vi fem nya personer att ta ansvar som äldste i församlingen. Vi tror att dessa personer redan används som ledare i olika bland olika grupper av människor, men vi vill också att medlemmar i New Life ska be för och tänka över dessa förslag.
Vi ber medlemmar i New Life att komma med kommentarer till äldste om dessa personer för att antingen bekräfta vårt förslag eller ge synpunkter som vi behöver för att kunna fatta rätt beslut. Kommentarer kan ges fram till 3 januari. Under gudstjänsten 10 januari räknar vi med att kunna presentera nya äldste. För mer information om varje person, klicka på den här länken.
Speciella aktiviteter
Julmiddag - 25 december
Om du vill fira jul med andra under en underbar fyrarättersmiddag, vänligen kontakta Esther. Middagen som börjar kl.16.00 kostar 185 kronor per person, och inkomsten från den här kvällen går till att stödja en församling i Kongo.
Bönevecka 2010 - 11-16 januari
Varje kväll mellan klockan 19.00 och 21.00 i New Life. Den här veckan kommer vi att be för året som kommer och alla utmaningar som vi kommer att möta. Planera in veckan i era kalendrar - vi kan inte fördjupas och möta utmaningarna utan att vara överlåtna i bön.
Konferens om församlingsplantering - 30 april-1 maj
En konferens om församlingsplantering med Stockholm2020 nätverket äger rum 30 april till 1 maj. Skriv in dessa datum i din kalender! Vi återkommer med mer information.
Personalnytt
 Jae Sung Kim kommer att anställas i New Life från 1 januari 2010 på 50 procent som ansvarig för organisering och administration i församlingen. På det senaste församlingsmötet berättade styrelsen och äldste att vi hade Jae Sung som förslag, och efter några månaders bön och funderingar accepterade han den här nya rollen.
Under 2010 kommer Jae Sung också att arbeta 20 procent för Stockholm2020, det nya initiativet att plantera 50 nya församlingar till 2020.
Barn- och ungdomsverksamheten
Lördagskul
Evangelisationsarbete bland barn i Tensta, kommer att starta igen 16 januari. Intresserad av att hjälpa till? Kontakta Caroline Widell.
Kids Life
Vårt arbete för barn under gudstjänsterna, kommer att ha en paus och startar igen söndagen den 17 januari. Notera att det kommer att vara en ledarsamling för Kids Life 12.15 i ungdomsrummet efter den första gudstjänsten 17 januari.
Visste du att...
Tjejernas 16+-grupp har växt från 4 till 13 tjejer! Heja tjejer! Tjejernas 12+-grupp har 10 medlemmar. Killarnas grupp är ungefär 10 personer.
Skidläger
Det kommer att vara ett skidläger vecka 9, 28 februari till 5 mars till Sälen tillsammans med Söderhöjdkyrkan. Kostnaden är 1700 kronor plus liftkort. För mer information kontakta Jenny Wahlström. Om ekonomin är ett problem finns det möjlighet till ett visst ekonomiskt stöd.
RE:ACT – stöd för vårt sociala arbete
Vi har startat en förening i New Life för att stödja människor med särskilda materiella behov. Vi vill sätta upp ett distributionsnätverk för att få in nödvändiga resurser, både varor och pengar, för att kunna möta en del av dessa behov. Vår önskan är att bygga ett nätverk av sponsorer: affärsverksamheter, företag, butiksägare och individer som vill samla in och distribuera dessa resurser.
Nu är vi på gång att samla resurserna och människor som vill vara en del av detta. Vi har kontakt med människor som har stora behov och därför vill vi vädja till våra kontakter att hjälpa till att bygga en "bank" av resurser.

Alaa ska stanna! - Fackeltåg
Tack för ditt stöd! Torsdag den 17 december tågade runt 200 personer från Fridhemsplan till Mynttorget i Gamla Stan för att visa att Migrationsverket har gått över gränsen. Du kan läsa mer om Alaa och hans familj i artikeln som Dagen publicerade häromdagen. Be gärna för de olika möten som kommer äga plats den närmaste veckan.

Introduktionskurs till New Life
Vi erbjuder en ny introduktionskurs för dig som är intresserad av församlingen New Life. Om du vill veta mer, är nyfiken eller vill bli medlem, kan du anmäla dig genom att mejla till John van Dinther. Läs mer om kursen här.
Äktenskapskurs från Alpha
 Från den 5 februari. För alla gifta eller sammanboende par - kyrkobesökare och icke-kyrkobesökare. Sju delar plus en avslutande fest med måltid, föredrag och övningar. Bl a om konsten att kommunicera, förlåtelsenskraft och kärlek i handlande. Även medhjälpare sökes!

Ta tillbaka A-teamet
Nej, vi menar inte tv-serien... men vi söker människor som vill vara med i Alphakursteamet permanent. Vår vision är att regelbundet erbjuda den här spännande möjligheten att upptäcka grunderna i kristen tro i New Life. Vi behöver hjälp med marknadsföring, att ha kontakt med gäster, förbereda måltider, leda diskussionsgrupper, be för kursdeltagarna och hålla föredrag inom ämnena för kursen. Intresserad? Följ med teamet till Göteborg
Varannan vecka kommer vi att bila till Göteborg för att stödja församlingsplanteringen där. Många av våra församlingsmedlemmar har varit där för att hjälpa till genom att tjäna på praktiska sätt, be, evangelisera eller bara vara där och uppmuntra den lilla, växande gemenskapen. Församlingen har ungefär 20 medlemmar, för ett par veckor sedan döptes två personer och några nya människor har tagit emot Jesus som sin Herre och frälsare. Proposal of new elders in New Life
In August, we sent out different elders “on a mission” (Owo Bjälkander, Linnea Widén and Hasse Persson), and since late spring, we as elders have prayed for the release of new elders among us.
On Sunday, 22 November, we proposed five new people to take these positions in the church. We believe that the following people are already leaders for different groups of people, but we also want the members in New Life to pray for them and to consider the proposed persons.
We asked the members of New Life to give feedback to the present elders about those proposed in order to help us make wise decisions. Feedback can be given to us up until 3 January. During the worship services on 10 January, we expect to be able to introduce new elders. For more information about each person, follow this link.
Special activities
Christmas Dinner - 25 December
If you want to celebrate Christmas with others and share a wonderful six-course dinner on Christmas day, December 25th at 16.00, please contact Esther ASAP. The cost is 185 kr./person, which will go to support a church in the Congo.
Prayer Week 2010 - 11-16 January
Every evening from 19.00-21.00 from 11-16 January in New Life. During this week, we will pray for the coming year and all the challenges we need to meet. Please make plans now to attend, as we cannot grow in depth and face these challenges without being committed to prayer.
Church Planting Conference - 30 April-1 May
A conference on church planting is held from April 30th until May 1st with the Stockholm2020 Network. Mark your calendars now! We will get back to you with more information.
Staff news
From 1 January 2010, Jae Sung Kim will be employed by New Life Church on a 50% basis as staff responsible for the organization and administration in the church. In our last church business meeting, we shared that the board and elders proposed Jae Sung to fill this position. After a few months of prayer and consideration, he has accepted!
During 2010, he will also have a 20 percent job with the Stockholm2020 Network, the new initiative to plant 50 new churches by the year 2020.
Children’s and youth ministry
"Lördagskul"
"Saturday Fun", the outreach ministry to children in Tensta, will start-up again on Saturday, 16 January. Interested in helping out? Email Caroline Widell.
Kids Life
Our children’s ministry that takes place during worship services, is now on break for the Christmas season but will start again on Sunday, 17 January. Please note that there will be a “Kids Life” leadership meeting at 12.15 in the youth room after the first service.
Did you know that...
The 16+ girls group has grown from 4 to 13 girls? Go girls, go! The 12+ girls group has 11 members and the guys group is approximately 8.
Youth ski camp
There will be a youth ski camp during week 9, 28 Feb- 5 March. Our youth will travel to Sälen together with Söderhöjdkyrkan. Cost for the trip is 1700 kr. plus ski pass. For more information, contact Jenny Wahlström. If finances are a problem, some financial support is available.
RE:ACT - supporting our social ministry
We have started an association in New Life to support people with specific material needs. We want to start a distribution network that helps bring together basic resources, in the form of goods and finances, in order to meet some of these needs.
Our desire is to build up a network of sponsors: businesses, companies, shop owners, and individuals who want to gather and to distribute these resources. We are in the process of gathering resources and individuals who want to be part of this initiative. We are in contact with people who have great needs and therefore want to appeal to our contacts to help us build a resource bank.

'Alaa ska stanna!' - Demonstration

On Thursday December 17th, around 200 people marched from Fridhemsplan to Mynttorget in Gamla Stan to show that Migrationsverket has gone too far. You can read more about Alaa and his family in the article that the newspaper Dagen recently published (in Swedish). Please pray for different meetings taking place the coming week. Marriage Course from Alpha
Starting February 5th. For any married or cohabiting couple - churchgoers or non-churchgoers . Seven sessions plus a concluding party with meals, practical sessions and exercises. I.a. about the art of communication, the power of forgiveness and love in action. We are also looking for people to help facilitate the course! Bring Back the A-Team!
No, we don't mean the TV series, but we are looking for people who will join a permanent Alpha Course Team. Our vision is to offer this exciting opportunity to discover the basics of the Christian faith on a regular basis in New Life. We need help with publicity, keeping in contact with guests, preparing meals, guiding discussion groups, praying for the course members, and presenting talks on the course topics. Interested? Join the teams to Gothenburg
Every other weekend we will travel with one car to Gothenburg to support the ministry there. Many of our church members have been there to help plant the church by serving in practical ways, praying, evangelizing, or just being there to encourage the small growing fellowship. The church has approximately 20 members, and two people were baptized just a few weeks ago! A few people have also accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Interested in joining this coming year?
