Recomended Restaurants
Enjoying good food at the “5 Illes Beach & Sunset” on the beach of Colonia de Sant Jordi, situated beautifully in a nature resort. To get to the restaurant, directly behind the beach between pine trees, you have to walk 3, 4 minutes along the beach S’Estany, no road leads to the restaurant. You eat peacefully with sea view, beginning with a starter like Salmorejo (tomatoes, bread, oil, garlic), which is topped with shrimps and Guacamole, or mussels in a delicate, slightly hot curry sauce or a hummus, enriched very refreshing with mango and citrus fruits. The popular, but normally quite boring dish gambas al ajillo, is pepped up with Sobrassada, lemon and ginger. The main dishes vary from grilled tuna fish, marinated in soya sauce and honey with wakame sea weed over to a grilled squid with wok vegetables, or presa (shoulder part) of an Iberian pork, marinated in home made Chimichurri sauce or duck breast with sweet potatoes mash and curry sauce. The restaurant has 120 seats indoor and 80 in the lounge and snack area where you can enjoy a cocktail like the house cocktail “5IllesBeach&Sunset” with rum, almond syrup, triple sec and passion fruit. There is a small stage where different artists perform on some evenings during the week, changing from soul, funk, folk and flamenco. Netflix made a little movie on this spot, broadcasting it in the Netflix series “White Lies” in the coming year. Playa s’Estany, Tel.: 971 180556, www.5illesmallorca.com
