Hi Elisabeth!
When did you start your yarnsho and why?
I opened Tant Thea in february 2010 and you could say that was after 20 years of dreaming and consideration. In a crossroad of my career the dream popped up again and it felt correct to do.
How do you see the fashion in knitting for the winter season of 2011/2012?
This winter all the big fashion brands and outlets are having huge selections of knits which definately are giving us operating in the yarnbusiness a good push.
Many are entering their LYS again to dust of their knitting and simply to create something that is trendy right now.
The knitting fashion this winter is all about chunky yarns and big needles. An example I have seen was a knitted cardigan I saw on the catwalk and it was designed by Stella McCartney. It was knitted on 20mm needles in an easy pattern and the price was approx 9500 SEK/1500 USD! What joy to actually be able to make the exact same sweater on your own for a much more reasonable price!
Which TK yarns do you have in your store and is there any favourite amongst them?
Tant Thea actually has most of the TK collection in the store. We carry Superla, Summer breeze, Colina, Delicious tweed, Tutsi Frutsi, Chunky chiq, Lin 1.0 and Lambada. Chunky chiq is my definate favourite which we knitted up a lovely poncho in for our event Uppstickaren 2011. The yarn is seriously soft , warm and cozy!
