Bodega Vinyes d’Alaro produces with “Oloron” an outstanding white wine. The position of the vineyard is – for Mallorca - very special: high positioned and partly in slopes therefore slightly windy even in the hottest summer, ideal for the grapes. The soil is limestone rich and light colored, a contrary to the iron-bearing clay soil of Mallorca. In winter they bring sheep fertilizing the vineyards. Before the press they cool down the grapes to 6 degrees. In stainless steel tanks they ferment with the shells at 12 degrees approx. 60 days, moving the mixture regularly. This brings more intensity, structure, fruitiness, color and alcohol (14 %). Oloron is the historical name of Alaro and to be bought directly at the bodega for 12 Euro in Taulera Nova, Tel: 638 092785, FB: Vinyes d’Alaro . Or at Isla Catavinos, Mercavinos, Sa Roteta or Delicataste.
