"In and Out" is the new strategy of the Museum Es Baluard. Since the museum has been redecorated, there were added 103 new works, partly of international artists and of the most famous alive Spanish artist, Miquel Barcelo from Felanitx/Mallorca. The new director of the museum wants to loosen the differences between past and presence and brings works from the 19th century next to todays art. The 3 themes of the exhibition are sexes (from bodies and performance scenes to trans sexuality), landscapes (natural and urbane, interior and outside rooms) and new expression forms in art like installations, performances, sound and video art. Placa de la Porta de Santa Catalina, Palma.

He lived in different villages in Spain and France but he felt home in Tarragona (where his family comes from) and Mallorca (his wife’s origin). On a big screen you can listen to Miros voice, telling anecdotes from his life, how he met Picasso, his love to architecture and how poor he started. It took nearly 6 years until the owner of the Bar Bosch could open his hotel, just above the bar. 1975 Nofre Flexas bought the Bar Bosch for 100.000 Pesetas from the previous owner Jaume Bosch, who opened the bar 1936. During the years, Flexas bought the rooms above the bar, used them first as storage and opened later a restaurant. In the 3rd floor house the architect created 6 double rooms and 5 apartments for 2 to 4 persons.  The entrance to the hotel is simple but the rooms surprise with space and light. Their names are Olivera, Cabrera, Borne and the furniture is unadorned, elegant, high ceilings, wooden beams, individual lamps and freestanding bathtub. The apartments have kitchen bedroom with bathroom, living room and balcony. The suite in the ground floor has a small patio. Roof terrace for all guests is there, sauna and chill-out-area.
